COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AT WORK!
TAKE ACTION!
As you
know, we've launched a 3 year project funded by the federal Office of Community Services, Department of Health and Human Services, to identify and promote successful
community economic development in the Community Action network. As
a first step to providing tools, training and technical assistance
we have launched this new CED website.
www.partnershipCED.org
This
is only the beginning! The site will grow as CED expands
in the Partnership. We will be announcing success stories, webinars,
events, green job information, media opportunities, and special promotions through the CED
website. We are excited about the new project and welcome feedback
from our network! If you have questions or see information that would
assist the network please contact Stacy Flowers, Director of Community
Economic Development, sflowers@communityactionpartnership.com.
TAKE
ACTION!
(We didn’t want
to miss your accomplishments!)
COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SURVEY
If
you have not completed the CED survey, here is another chance for your
voice to be heard!! Community Action Partnership needs your help!!!
Below is the survey link from the Partnership that asks for your input
on a series of community economic development and job creation topics,
including what your agency does now, what training & technical
assistance needs & opportunities are of greatest need and interest
to you, and other relevant matters. Your input is very important in
helping guide the Partnership with its planning of future training
and resource development and information exchange opportunities that
you can use.

If
you already have previously completed this survey….THANK YOU
for your support!!
There are many success stories in our Community Action network about
incredibly creative and effective economic development programs and
practices that are making systemic improvements in communities across
our nation. We want to hear from YOU!
YOU have done the work; YOU have made the changes in your community.
We want to help agencies interested in CED move forward. Your stories
will not only be shared with policymakers, potential funders, and
people-of-influence but especially other agencies around the country
who want to make a difference through CED.
The Partnership is working closely with the federal Office of Community
Services (OCS) on a variety of community economic development, job
creation, and green jobs initiatives. These range from a three-year
OCS grant to the Partnership to identify, package, provide Training & Technical Assistance
on exemplary practices on community economic development to our role
as a lead agency in an OCS working group—with the National Association for State Community Services Programs (NASCSP), the Community Action Program Legal Services, Inc. (CAPLAW), and the National Community Action Foundation
(NCAF)—on job creation and green jobs.
